Introduction

Welcome to MAPS !  At MAPS, we understand that Mature Age, Part-time and Distance education students have a different set of needs compared to the average school leaver of 18 or 19 yrs of age. MAPS strives to cater best to those needs and help students to integrate into their university life.

Mature age, part-time and distance education students are automatically entitled to use the facilities of MAPS by virtue of their enrolment status - which includes all undergraduates aged 23+ at time of enrolment at Monash University, Clayton campus. You do not have to join or register, just come in and use the facilities. We are located at Campus Centre level 1, directly opposite the John Medley Library.

  • The 1st of 2 MAPS General Meetings was held on Monday 23rd March and had 42 MAPS constituents in total, the largest turnout over the last 3 years, given the difficulty of organising a common time that MAPS constituents can meet. • MAPS Orientation Program 2009 held on Tuesday 24th February at the Airport Lounge was well attended with guest speakers comprising past and present MAPS constituents, MSA president and representatives from Language and Learning unit, Library services, Health Wellbeing & Development, Family and Day Care, and Equity and Diversity. Click here to read an inspiring speech from Kathy Avery (past MAPS member) during the session.

  • Have YOU signed up for the MAPS Global email? Tick the checkbox next to MAPS to add it to your mailing list through your student account at http://my.monash.edu.au/services/optin/  (you will be brought to the correct place after you login into your student account).

  • The graduation MAPS Bash 'n Ball 2008 held at the Melbourne Aquarium on November 26th last year was a tremendous success. All who attended had a ball of a time. Pictures of the event will be posted in the coming weeks. Do support MAPS activities for 2009. Find out more about coming events by clicking on the Events tab, through the MAPS office or through any of the committee members.

  • To find out more about the current MAPS executive committee (MAPSEC 2008/9), click on the committee tab at the top of this page to see who they are.
